or cries of distress,
no more sorrow;
these old things
have passed away. P
Jesus, in John 14, seems to confirm this and to confirm an Era of The Holy Spirit, as well. surely He meant, also,
Now, while The Lord intended His Disciples be immediate recipients of this Truth and Peace, in a spectacular way, which was the case,
that His Truth and Peace
by way of His Spirit,
to the entire world
as a final proof
of His Triumph?
P26 But the Paraclete, the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring all things to your mind, whatsoever I shall have said to you.Yet again, I contend
27 Peace I leave with you: my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, do I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled: nor let it be afraid. P
To date, the Peace which Jesus promised to leave with His Disciples, has been found only in individuals, the Saints of The Church in every generation.
that His Peace and Truth
must become a REALITY
for the WHOLE world.
How else will The Church become
the light for the world?
What Does The Woman of Scripture Say?he hath scattered the proud
The words of Mary, The Mother of Christ, are rare in Sacred Scripture and so the too-few occurrences must be regarded as pure treasure.
P 50 And his mercy is from generation unto generations, to them that fear him.
He hath shewed might in his arm:
in the conceit of their heart.
He hath put down
the mighty from their seat
and hath exalted the humble.
He hath filled the hungry
with good things:
and the rich he hath sent empty away.
54 He hath received Israel his servant, being mindful of his mercy. Punless there come a revolt first,
Here, in Luke 1, we find a confirmation that God works in individuals, for He shows mercy to them that fear him.
But then Mary prophecies a different situation - He hath scattered the proud in the conceit of their heart - and here, there is a GENERAL result of God's action in the world - it could be no where else but in the world.
He has put down the mighty from their seat … the rich he has sent empty away.
We perceive here that God brings down the proud who consider themselves strong and powerful by their own powers and initiatives, giving no recognition to God.
But, on the contrary, He has exalted the humble and has filled the hungry with good things.
Mary's prophecy here for a period in the world where justice will be universally achieved, must surely indicate, as well as an era of justice, an era of Peace.
P3 ¶ Let no man deceive you by any means: for
and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perditionAnd then that wicked one shall be revealed:
4 Who opposeth and is lifted up above all that is called God or that is worshipped, so that he sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself as if he were God.
7 For the mystery of iniquity already worketh: only that he who now holdeth do hold, until he be taken out of the way.
whom the Lord Jesus shall kill
with the spirit of his mouth
and shall destroy with the brightness
of his coming: him
9 Whose coming is according to the working of Satan, in all power and signs and lying wonders:(2-14) Therefore, brethren, stand fast: and
10 And in all seduction of iniquity to them that perish: because they receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 (2:10) Therefore God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying:
(2-11) That all may be judged
who have not believed the truth
but have consented to iniquity.
hold the traditions, which you have learned,
whether by word
or by our epistle. P
Here, in the second Epistle of St. Paul to the Thessalonians, we observe teaching about the anti-christ. It is most worthy of note that Jesus Christ, Himself, will defeat him with the spirit of his mouth. Christ will destroy him with the brightness of His Coming.
This indicates to me that the devil will have already been overcome and despatched to his black kingdom, the lake of fire and brimstone long before Christ despatches the anti-christ.
It is the anti-christ that Christ will defeat directly, not the devil although the latter will be defeated by Him indirectly - of course.
The devil, knowing his defeat was imminent, made plans for the survival of evil even into the Era of Peace and so, prepared the way for the man of sin …. the son of perdition, who would bring to an end the Era of Peace and prepare for the final battle between good and evil.
The Devil's Century
In the past century The Universal Church has been subjected to the worst revolt, the worst apostasy in its 2,000 year
