the greatest Prayer,
The Sacrifice of Golgotha,
comes out of that other Prayer
of divine significance,
that of procreation?
Yet the word sexuality has become something more then that intended by its true, original meaning. What is your sexuality?
The word derives from sexual which has the meaning:-
P 1. Of or characterised by sex. 2. (of reproduction) characterised by the union of male and female reproductive cells. 3. Of or relating to the differences between males and females. PCollins Australian Compact Dictionary.
And the word sex has the prime meaning of the state of being either male or female but it also has the meaning either of the two categories, male or female, into which organisms are divided as well as sexual intercourse, etc. etc.
Yet sexuality has become, like some other words in the English language, a word denoting innumerable possibilities - awful possibilities never intended!
Nowadays, one might even be asked the question (for example)
I had intended to go into the realm of possibilities that would result from this awful question, but because of the certainty of the Triumph of The Immaculate Conception, denigration of the alternate, so-called sexualities are no longer needed. I need not ponder therefore, on the dark worlds of homosexuality and bestiality.Made them male and female?
There is no need to set out the other abuses of sexuality such as those derived from the contraceptive mentality leading to acceptance of abortion and euthanasia, a result of the devaluation of human life in the womb - if we do not defend human life in the womb where it is the most innocent and the most defenceless, the other possibilities naturally result.
It is a pleasure therefore, to proceed on the subject of sexuality on positive, rewarding lines of thought, highlighted in Christ's sure advice to humanity:-
P 47 19 3 And there came to him the Pharisees tempting him, and saying: Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
47 19 4 Who answering, said to them: Have ye not read, that he who made man from the beginning,
And he said:Their powers were such
47 19 5 For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they two shall be in one flesh.
47 19 6 Therefore now they are not two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder. P Matthew
Here again we find marriage and sexuality blest - this time by Jesus - as well as confirming the permanency of marriage.
In concluding, I mention the little story where a father was approached by his nine-year old daughter who asked him:- What does sex mean, dad?
To which the astonished father answered with a question, as one is want on such occasions:- Yikes! Where did you hear about that?
Mum said that:- 'Dinner will be ready in a few secs'!
That he was able to answer!
Adam and Eve, in the Garden of Eden, had no need of tools - no need for manufactured apparatus or appliances - no need for means of transport such as motor cars, planes.
I do not believe that this lack of need for tools was because Adam and Eve were 'primitive'. Christians know that our First Parents were anything but primitive.
I would believe that - in the situation where they had not eaten the forbidden fruit - and then filled the earth as commanded by God - even then, I claim they would have had no need for tools.
I suggest that Adam and Eve, having been created perfectly - even in the image of God Himself - were so capable as to have no need for any type of tool whatsoever.
as to more then equal the powers
of the great Prophets
or the great Saints
whose powers were so astonishing
that we call their feats, miracles.
It stands to reason, that if sinners worked great and wonderful feats of the miraculous kind, then the sinless Adam and Eve could have surpassed them - by a large margin.
Jesus, the Sinless One, also worked innumerable miracles.
Yet Jesus is a man - 100% man. Although the Person of Jesus is The Son of God, His Body and Soul are absolutely human and The Universal Church teaches that the only difference in Jesus' Humanity and ours, is His sinlessness.
Now, Jesus is also called the New Adam and so He is.
In this, there is a proof that the powers Jesus possessed would have been the powers Adam and Eve possessed.
P 1 3 16 To the woman also he said: I will multiply thy sorrows, and thy conceptions:
