The Sacred Heart of Jesus
P 49 23 46 And Jesus crying out with a loud voice, said:
Father, into thy hands
I commend my spirit.
And saying this, he gave up the ghost. PLuke.
That great devotion of Catholics around the world to The Sacred Heart of Jesus has been one of the many holy practices that came under the most severe attacks of modernism in the twentieth century.
This is a proof of how valuable an avenue towards God's Graces was this devotion - because modernism (the greatest heresy/apostasy/schism of all time) centred its satanic attacks upon the most worthy of Catholic practices.
And a simple, common-sensical approach in valuing this devotion proves how well-founded was this extremely successful, diabolical attack upon such a real-Catholic characteristic.
Fortunately the real-Catholic
has never lost this devotion,
contrary to appearances.
Nor has The Church,
as witnessed by the Pope and the Bishops united to him.
When considering this supreme devotion we must first acknowledge one particular point and that is that
The Person of The Son of God
achieved Salvation for all mankind
- for all creation -
through the Sacrifice
of His human Body
at Golgotha.
I say again His human Body!
The extrapolation from this truth is that
in adoring The Son of God, The God-man,
we can not exclude
His sacred Body
(and so, His Sacred Heart).
Having said this, there seems no need to say any more, but I would pursue this line of thought.
The Body of The Son of God was completely human but because it belonged to The Son and because it was The Son Who delivered His Body for torture and crucifixion, then
that Sacrifice became
The Event
of all-creation.
Because it was The Son (indeed, God Himself) Who assumed to Himself that human body and soul (by way of the co-operation of The Woman of Scripture, on behalf of all mankind) known throughout time and space as Jesus Christ,
then that human Body and Soul
chosen by Him
was raised into the
Sphere of Divinity.
Who is going to disagree with that?
Indeed, if His human Body and Soul were not raised to the sphere of Divinity,
then we, poor sinners,
have no chance whatsoever.
Whatsoever!
On Jesus' death therefore, the just condemnation of Adam and Eve and their descendents, to absolute separation from God, was by-passed - was over-ridden - because
The Son of God,
in returning to His Godliness
could not return
without His human Body.
Was The God-man going to be rejected by God?
Was His sacred Body going to decompose like the bodies of sinful men? Even after His perfect life on earth as the Son of Man and His embracing the role of The Sacrificial Lamb of God?
Was His resurrected Body and Soul to be set aside while its divine Person return to His Father's Side without it?
No. No. No. No. Scripture tells us that indeed The Lamb of God went to Heaven:-
P 73 5 2 And I saw a strong angel, proclaiming with a loud voice: Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof?
73 5 3 And no man was able, neither in heaven, nor on earth, nor under the earth, to open the book, nor to look on it.
73 5 4 And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open the book, nor to see it.
73 5 5 And one of the ancients said to me: Weep not; behold
