PrayerThe serpent deceived me, and I did eat.
P1 3 9 And the Lord God called Adam, and said to him: Where art thou?
1 3 10 And he said: I heard thy voice in paradise; and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.
1 3 11 And he said to him: And who hath told thee that thou wast naked, but that thou hast eaten of the tree whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldst not eat?
1 3 12 And Adam said: The woman, whom thou gavest me to be my companion, gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
1 3 13 And the Lord God said to the woman: Why hast thou done this? And she answered:
1 3 14 And the Lord God said to the serpent: Because thou hast done this thing, thou art cursed among all cattle, and beasts of the earth: upon thy breast shalt thou go, and earth shalt thou eat all the days of thy life.So at second glance we can observe that,
1 3 15 I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.
1 3 16 To the woman also he said: I will multiply thy sorrows, and thy conceptions: in sorrow shalt thou bring forth children, and thou shalt be under thy husband's power, and he shall have dominion over thee.
1 3 17 And to Adam he said: Because thou hast hearkened to the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldst not eat, cursed is the earth in thy work; with labour and toil shalt thou eat thereof all the days of thy life.
1 3 18 Thorns and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herbs of the earth.
1 3 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread till thou return to the earth, out of which thou wast taken: for dust thou art, and into dust thou shalt return. P Genesis.
At first glance, this passage from Scripture would be seen merely as God laying penalties upon those who offended Him through disobedience.
God did place sufferings upon our First Parents and their posterity, because of their offence, but
this was in fact
a divine Act of Mercy
whereby the sufferings became avenues
through which mercy, forgiveness, Love, peace and Truth,
were drawn from God.
Had mankind been like the Angels, the disobedience of Adam and Eve would have been of an absolute quality and the punishment made accordingly.
for Adam and Eve, and their posterity
these passages were actually
a declaration for all humanity
that suffering is a perfect form of prayer;
a prayer of reparation;
a prayer that draws upon man
the Mercy of God.
Jesus Christ suffered and died for Adam and Eve and their posterity and, only by His Passion and Cross, were we given access to Salvation.I therefore contend that Jesus' Passion
We thus observe most clearly that only by Jesus' Suffering were we to be saved!
is a Prayer
- it is The Prayer.
The Prayer of Salvation.
Further, The Passion of Christ proves that the above-mentioned passages of Genesis
proclaim the Mercy of God,
made available ONLY through suffering
Unlike the devil whose defiance was so absolute as to render himself as eternally damned, the defiance of Adam and Eve was carried out in time and space wherein and wherebye mankind was enabled to repent and find forgiveness and thereby proceed to Eternal-life in God.suffering is a prayer for mercy
Adam and Eve and their posterity were able to achieve this, as we have perceived, through suffering.
Again, I point out:-
and for forgiveness
and for union with Jesus Christ!
Now, everybody suffers. Therefore the suffering of everybody
- regardless of how evil they are -
is a very powerful prayer to God.
Therefore, everybody prays to God for Mercy and forgiveness and for the right to Eternal-life. They do this through suffering.
Consciously or subconsciously.
Because, as I say, everybody suffers.
