It can only help
has already gained ascendancy over evil
(and that that ascendance continues to accelerate) so that given more time the greater number of souls will be saved - a greater percentage of souls will be saved.Perhaps She is not yet readied
We know that modernism has been defeated and that post-modernism can already see the end of its short existence.
Meanwhile, The Church is in a state of resurrection.
to be the light for the world?
Perhaps the massive movement towards Her, when Her divine Beauty is recognised by everyone, might yet be too great for the labourers to handle? 1 7 10 And after the seven days were passed,
P 47 9 36 And seeing the multitudes, he had compassion on them: because they were distressed, and lying like sheep that have no shepherd.
47 9 37 Then he saith to his disciples, The harvest indeed is great, but the labourers are few. PMatthew
It seems to me that the multitudes are distressed and desperately need a shepherd and labourers.
Unfortunately also, Priests of The Church, the shepherds, are not great in number and even this number includes the modernist survivors!!
(We of course, do have a shepherd, the Holy Father in Rome, yet he is the Shepherd only to those who follow him. Most of the world do not.)
But at the same time God did not pause when Noah had entered The Ark.
P 1 7 4 For yet a while, and after seven days,
I will rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and I will destroy every substance that I have made, from the face of the earth. 1 7 5 And Noe did all things which the Lord had commanded him. 1 7 6 And he was six hundred years old, when the waters of the flood overflowed the earth. 1 7 7 And Noe went in and his sons, his wife and the wives of his sons with him into the ark, because of the waters of the flood. 1 7 8 And of beasts clean and unclean, and of fowls, and of every thing that moveth upon the earth, 1 7 9 Two and two went in to Noe into the ark, male and female, as the Lord had commanded Noe.
the waters of the flood overflowed the earth. P
God said seven days, and seven days it was.P 37 3 10 And God saw their works,
On the other hand, God showed His Mercy in a very different way with the mighty Prophet Jonah.
that they were turned from their evil way:
and God had mercy with regard to the evil
which he had said that he would do to them,
and he did it not.
37 4 1 And Jonas was exceedingly troubled, and was angry: 20 1 12 Then the Lord said to Satan:
37 4 2 And he prayed to the Lord, and said: I beseech thee, O Lord, is not this what I said, when I was yet in my own country? therefore I went before to flee into Tharsis: for I know that thou art a gracious and merciful God, patient, and of much compassion, and easy to forgive evil. PJonas
So what is happening in these days of The Lord when the world has been in an even greater degree of degradation then in the days of Norah or in the days of Sodom or of Nineveh; a world which, no doubt, has the ten good people in it; a world which has The Mystical Body of Christ in it.
Yet it is also the Prophet Job who might be a forecaster of today's history. Just as the twentieth century was given over to the devil, so also was Job.
P 20 1 6 Now on a certain day when the sons of God came to stand before the Lord, Satan also was present among them.
20 1 7 And the Lord said to him: Whence comest thou? And he answered and said: I have gone round about the earth, and walked through it.
20 1 8 And the Lord said to him: Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a simple and upright man, and fearing God, and avoiding evil?
20 1 9 And Satan answering, said: Doth Job fear God in vain?
20 1 10 Hast not thou made a fence for him, and his house, and all his substance round about, blessed the works of his hands, and his possession hath increased on the earth?
20 1 11 But stretch forth thy hand a little, and touch all that he hath, and see if he blesseth thee not to thy face.
Behold, all that he hath is in thy hand:
only put not forth thy hand upon his person. And Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord. P
Just as The Church has persevered in spite of a world given over to the devil for the past century, so did Job persevere when he was reduced to the lowest state of existence. And of course the reward for perseverance for Job will also be the same for The Church.
P 20 42 12 And the Lord blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning. And he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.
20 42 13 And he had seven sons, and three daughters. 20 42 14 And he called the names of one Dies, and the name of the second Cassia, and the name of the third Cornustibil.
20 42 15 And there were not found in all the earth women so beautiful as the daughters of Job: and their father gave
