proclaims because flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven.which is the church of the living God,
Revealed The Truth of course, The Truth that Jesus is The Christ.
Jesus is here stating that not only was He speaking about The Truth when He spoke of keys, but He was also clearly making the vital point that it was His Father Who revealed The Truth to Peter.
That is to say, Peter was given The Truth about Jesus by The Eternal-father, clearly proclaiming that Peter was guided by God Himself and therefore can be totally relied upon to proclaim only The Truth.
But Jesus is not satisfied saying these fabulous words to and about Peter, but He confirms them by proclaiming Peter is the rock, and that He will build His Church upon this rock!
Again, what could Jesus mean by building His Church? His Church can only be built upon one thing, and that is Truth.
When Jesus says Rock, He is talking about solidity; about something unshakeable and everlasting. What else can this be but Truth?
Can it be Love? No. Even though Love is the new Commandment of Jesus and of His Church, Love is not the foundation, for the foundation is Truth - 61 3 15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God,
the pillar and ground of the truth. (Timothy)
We have millions of good hearted people around the world who truly share The Love of God and live their lives in accordance with their conscience, while at the same time, they do not have access to the fullness of Truth. Yes, they may access some Truth but as Jesus says They do not know what they are doing. Luke 23 34That is to say The Church
And that is why they are forgiven. (49 23 34 - Luke).
For Love issues from Truth and I think Jesus' explanation about the parable of the sower who went to sow, explains how God works:
P 47 13 18 Hear you therefore the parable of the sower.
47 13 19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, there cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart: this is he that received the seed by the way side.
47 13 20 And he that received the seed upon stony ground, is he that heareth the word, and immediately receiveth it with joy.
47 13 21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but is only for a time: and when there ariseth tribulation and persecution because of the word, he is presently scandalized.
47 13 22 And he that received the seed among thorns, is he that heareth the word, and the care of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choketh up the word, and he becometh fruitless.
47 13 23 But he that received the seed upon good ground, is he that heareth the word, and understandeth, and beareth fruit, and yieldeth the one an hundredfold, and another sixty, and another thirty. P
It seems to me the word, represented by the seed, can only mean Truth and that the good ground, can only mean Goodness (the Goodness found in God's children) and that the fruit yeilded, can only mean Love.
in teaching Truth
obtains disciples from
those people who have a basic goodness
and having accepted Truth,
they then follow Christ's Commandment
to love one another.
For the very same reason Goodness is not the foundation of The Church.when the true adorers
So when Peter binds on earth, what does he bind? He does not bind material things with rope. He binds spiritual things and the only spiritual thing he can bind is Truth.
P 50 21 17 He said to him the third time: Simon, son of John, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved, because he had said to him the third time: Lovest thou me? And he said to him: Lord, thou knowest all things: thou knowest that I love thee. He said to him: Feed my sheep. P (John)
And what is this feed that Peter is to provide for Christ's lambs and sheep?
It can of course only be Truth.
By Christ's command Peter is to provide Truth to the world - that is sure and certain.
But it is common sense - it goes without saying - that when Peter provides Truth, he can not provide falsehood or deception as well.
Therefore, we most clearly observe that Peter teaches only Truth and accordingly Peter is infallible.
I realise that The Holy Trinity always works as One, so that when Jesus brings Truth to creation He does it in the Goodness of The Father by the Love of The Spirit. So also does The Church work and so too Peter.
This does not take away the necessity of Truth and the necessity that Truth is the foundation of The Church.
P 50 4 21 Jesus saith to her: Woman, believe me, that the hour cometh, when you shall neither on this mountain, not in Jerusalem, adore the Father.
50 4 22 You adore that which you know not: we adore that which we know; for salvation is of the Jews.
50 4 23 But the hour cometh, and now is,
shall adore the Father
in spirit and in truth.
For the Father also seeketh such to adore him. 50 4 24 God is a spirit;
and they that adore him,
must adore him in spirit
and in truth. P
